Dimitris Chalkias is a mountain grower. Together with his brother, Vasilis, they decided some years ago to pioneer the cultivation of Olympus tea, introducing it into organized organic farming at the foothills of the mountain.

Where Olympus Tea Blooms

At the end of winter, the fields rest, until they bloom in spring.

The flowers are harvested by hand, once a year, in late June.

The love these two farmers have for Greece’s herbs, and their collaboration with KORRES, have ensured the survival of the plant’s wild populations.

This is perhaps the last generation of growers in a place that hosts 1,700 plant species, many of which are rare or endemic.

A real story from Greece that continues as long as birds sing in the mountains.
